Every resident is to be asked to complete a questionnaire seeking their views on every aspect of life in the community - local services, the environment, housing, health, pressure from development and recreation. Young people will also have their own questionnaire on topics of importance to them.

The exercise is being managed by the Shotley and Erwarton Parish Plans Steering Committee and its Chairperson Phil Radley said "This is a really important component of the consultations we have been doing to draw together the Parish Plans- the documents that will decide how the community can develop our hope and aspirations over the coming years. It is vital that everyone takes this opportunity to have their say. As the slogan on our Website says "You can make things happen here." For us to get it right we need everyone's views."

Questionnaires will be delivered to every house by a team of volunteers who will be able to answer your questions about the plan and offer any assistance required. Completed questionnaires will be collected by 23 March 2005.
