A HUGE THANK YOU! I would just like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all who came to the recent dance I organised at Shotley Village Hall to raise money for SCOPE. I was totally overwhelmed by how many of you came and supported me, ladened down with fantastic raffle prizes. I would also like to thank the local post offices and The Queens Head for contributing to the raffle. Tricks of the Trade worked their guitars off, but thoroughly enjoyed the evening too, you were a great audience for them. The evening was a big success and, between you all, it raised £474!! |

| WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP?
I have decided the time has come for me to face a real challenge! I am participating in a weekend Trek in the Sahara Desert, where the temperatures will range from 35degrees by day to sub-zero by night. We will be trekking for up to 8 hours a day, with a cosy 2 man tent to look forward to each night and few home comforts, such as a toilet! However, I am prepared to suffer this in order to raise as much money as I can for SCOPE. This is a charity which focuses on helping people with cerebral palsy to live a ‘normal’ life. As a family affected by cerebral palsy, I know only too well how challenging life can be for the disabled. If you would like to help me you can sponsor me on my Just Giving web site - www.justgiving.com/ruthpage-sahara or leave a donation in an envelope at Shotley Primary School (cheques payable to SCOPE). I am also arranging a fund-raising dance at Shotley Village Hall on 16th August. Entertainment will be provided by Tricks of the Trade. Tickets will cost £3, and can be obtained from me or by phoning 788592. I would like to reassure you that ALL funds raised will go directly to SCOPE, I will be paying my own expenses. Many thanks |
