Support Abhik Patel in the marathon

Abhik Patel says 'THANK YOU' for the interest and support shown when he ran in the London Marathon on 13 April.

He completed the course in 4hrs 40mins.

The final figure Abhik raised for Cancer Reasearch UK was £1500 and this, coupled with the personal experience was well worth the effort.
Well done, Abhik and best wishes for your future.

A young man who was brought up in Shotley, will be running in the London Marathon on April 13th. Can we help him make his effort worthwhile?

Abhik Patel, from the Post Office in the Street, is putting Shotley to the forefront as well as raising money for the Cancer Research UK .charity We owe Abhik support as he is taking precious study time at University to train for the event. The Patel family have touched the lives of many families through their generosity to the children of Shotley and Chelmondiston over the years and in their support for many local events. If you are willing to sponsor Abhik- remembering that a lot of £1 coins could prove to be both a great incentive and help, please, please, sign the sponsorship forms in the Post Office (and of course pay the money when his mission is accomplished) I thank you in anticipation, knowing that Shotley will support his generous endeavour.

Stop Press: We learn that Abhik ran the Adidas Half Marathon at Silverstone on Sunday 9th March. His time?- a medal-winning 2hours 5minutes.
