- The Council made grants to Suffolk Family Carers; Home-Start Babergh; Headway; OPTUA; School PFA; Drama Group; Kidzone and St Mary's Church
- River Stour Breach: the major and minor breaches had been repaired to a high standard thus enabling all users to enjoy the path once more. It was hoped the closure signs would be removed soon by SCC. Funding for the repair had been received from: Cllr David Wood 's Locality Fund (£1000) and Babergh East Local Strategic Partnership (£3000). SCC Rights of Way will contribute £4000 leaving the Council with a £4000 bill. Unfortunately there were still surface water problems near the Anglian Water outlet and a remedy for this was being investigated;
- Planning: There was no objection to a planning application relating to the erection of a rear conservatory at 69 Great Harlings. Babergh had approved applications for 2 Kirkton Close (erection of a two storey side extension incorporating ground floor annex) and 16 The Street (retention of a detached outbuilding for use as a gym); Babergh had refused the erection of a dwelling at 1 Stourside.
- Ganges update: Nothing material to report other than Councillors hoped to attend a meeting with Babergh Planning and Legal Depts to discuss the legal issues regarding the development at the end of July.
- Electoral Commission Update: It was agreed to arrange a public meeting in early September in order to pass on/discuss the Boundary Committee's finding regarding the future of Local Government in Suffolk.
- Councillor Vacancy: A vacancy had arisen due to the resignation of Cllr Jeremy Peters.
- The Community Warden reported that litter was slightly up due to books being ripped up on the sports pitch, although no bottles had been smashed on the tennis courts recently making it a much nicer place to play; beer can and bottle litter was down and details of any marked items found had been passed to the SNT; paving had been placed in front of the Kingsland noticeboard and a no smoking sign had been placed on the bus shelter.
- Babergh summer activities holiday programme at the Ganges Wood Play Area (Lloyd Road). Dates advised: 29 July ( 2-4pm ), 6 Aug (10-12noon) 11 and 21 Aug (2-4pm). Activities to be confirmed.
