- The 'Beachwatch' litter pick has been confirmed as 10am - noon on Saturday 15 September. The Sailing Club and Viking Forest Project are participating, in addition to many other local people. It will cover 100 yards west from the Pier. Meeting point: Sailing Club. The Tidy Up Shotley campaign was “piggybacking”; the two additional meeting points being Kirkton Close green and the Village Hall.
- To progress efforts to tackle the increase in anti-social behaviour in the Parish, an informal meeting with the Safer Neighbourhood Team, Police and Babergh DC will be held in September.
- On behalf of a resident of Lloyd Road, District Cllr Roberts expressed concern at ongoing serious vandalism and abuse. However, to remedy this the police needed the culprits' identities.
- There has been further vandal damage to the Kingsland and Lloyd Road play areas.
- Despite part funding being in place and the ideas and aspirations of the Parish, the tennis courts redevelopment project continues to be delayed by lack of project management capacity. Babergh Communities Together are to be approached. Anyone with these skills who is interested in helping to improve community facilities, please email info@myshotley.com .

Proposed Traffic Regulation Order (parking restrictions) for Queen Victoria Drive and Bristol Hill, though reserved
the right to request traffic calming measures be incorporated at a later date.
- Following an incident in the Lower Harlings area, a resident requested that the speed limit be reduced. C.Cllr Wood advised that lowering speed limits was only considered due to human fatalities. demolish Shotley Lodge, Queen Victoria Drive and replace it with eight apartments, was also objected to. This was mainly because there had been no traffic impact assessment, no improvements for pedestrian access, and the loss of an important amenity to local community. Cllrs felt that should permission be granted for anything other than its current use then appropriate compensation to the community should be made.
